Inspired by what I absorbed on my daily morning walks around the town of Carcavelos, where I lived. There was a thought-provoking juxtaposition, of these densely packed in concrete buildings, making you feel slightly trapped. Then you’d round a corner and be hit with a profusion of bright colors. It always struck me, that the flowers were being held in check by all of that concrete. I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with the place, but seeing those bright pops of pink contrasted with the flat colors of buildings provided good painting inspiration.
