First week in South Africa…

I got to Cape Town and the first thought I had was “Oh No, not another big city!” It’s becoming increasingly apparent to me that city living is no longer my cup of tea! Did some prelim exploring along the waterfront (close to where I’m staying) on my first day, had a really good dinner, then got pissed with this girl from Somerset (what the hell is it with people from Somerset anyway??) Hightailed it out of the city for the Easter weekend to Stellenbosch, SA’s version of Napa Valley. Stayed at this fab hotel on a vineyard for very little $. Was a bit self indulgent I know, but given that I’ll be sleeping in a tent for the forseeable future, I decided to allow it. The food is awesome here in SA, one can eat gourmet food on a backpacker’s budget! Gotta love the greenback right now! Am tempted to stay in Cape Town given how cheap everything is, will have to think on that. Here’s a few photos from the weekend to make you green with envy ๐Ÿ˜‰
