Enough temples and tombs already!

Today is my last day in Luxor, and had a very nice time. Ending up hanging out with some Brit uni stundents last night, drinking beer and chatting until the wee hours. Today, hung out with an American dude that lives in the Bay Area, then an older, but very fun, Canadian couple currently living  and teaching in Saudi Arabia. The hostel I stayed at is in a great location, has a roof top restaurant with a view of Luxor temple and the Nile. The owner and all of the staff are polite, helpful. hospitable and friendly. While the hostel is in desperate need of an upgrade, it’s clean, safe and the restaurant is fab…has the best food I’ve had in Egypt!

I didn’t do any sightseeing today, there is only so much history I can abosrb! If I have to walk into another tomb!  Also spent some time trying to reach the US embassy to get the name of a doctor to administer my booster Hep. Today was a chill day hanging outside on the roof or in the courtyard, eating, drinking and chatting. I’d recommend to anyone visiting Egypt to spend no more than a day in Cairo, spend at least 3 days in Luxor and I hear Aswan, in the far south is also very nice. I ran out of time to go there, but I don’t feel that I’ve missed out anything, because my time here is Luxor was so enjoyable.

At the mo, trying to understand the Italian family sitting next to me…I can just make out every few words…guess I need to continue on with my lessons!
