FLORA

Flowers arrive like sudden storms of colors, unexpected yet deeply profound, bringing with them serenity, joy and the faint whisper of long-lost memories. Growing up in the tropics, I was surrounded by vibrant trees and blossoms, their beauty woven into my earliest recollections. I can still picture the hedgerows of roses and hibiscus in my aunt’s garden, and remember pleading with my mum to take me to the botanical gardens on Sunday afternoons. In my art, I often return to flowers, especially in life’s most tumultuous moments, when my hands reach instinctively for bright pink and yellow, as a way to summon peace.
