Gosh, I’ve been rather remiss in updating this blog..guess I’ve been having too much fun! Actually, the past few weeks has been quite eye-opening. At the moment, I’m relaxing at my cousin’s house in sunny Spain; being able to speaking frankly to someone with shared history and who has an understanding of familial and cultural influences has been grounding for me. She has helped me to get a bit clearer about my direction, while delivering a few sage words of advice along the way.
Prior to Spain, I wrapped up my time in France with a visit to friends living in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This time with also rather enlightening. I absolutely fell in love with their home and surroundings! I felt such serenity and realized how much I long to live in a naturally beautiful setting. Being able to walk out your door, jump on your bike or hit a running or hiking trail, is something that needs to be a integral part of my life…I can just see myself doing this everyday with my partner! To look out our window, see rolling green hills, mountains and wild meadows…I’ve been dreaming about a setting like this since I was living in Edinburgh. Honestly, it was probably even before that…since I visited New Zealand in 2007 and the idea was planted in my mind by a certain blue-eyed man. Learning how affordable property is in this area of France definitely peaked my interest and I will have to take this under advisement.
