May 30th: Less chaotic, but still a city…

Chengdu  was more or less another populous area in China. In the Sichuan region with lots of farms, nicknamed the Land of Milk and Honey (and with all that VERY spicy food, one needs milk and honey!).

Chengdu is the main access point for people going to Tibet or Nepal. I decided to bag the Nepal part of the trip due to the weather (raining for 2 weeks), and decided to spend some time exploring the Yunnan province, which is close to Tibet, which means I’ll soon be in the mountains.

Not much to do in Chengdu, highlights were the pandas, visiting an actual Buddhist monastery, spicy Sichuan food and other travelers that I met, who provided me with some great tips for the journey south.
